Dr. Khalil El Asmar is an accomplished epidemiologist, biostatistician, and researcher specializing in artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and their applications in healthcare and industry. He holds a PhD in Clinical Research from Paris 11 University, as well as advanced degrees in epidemiology, biostatistics, and biomedical research. Currently an Assistant Professor at AUB, Dr. El Asmar coordinates the Epidemiology Graduate Program and serves as Academic Director of the Online Graduate Diploma in Health Data Analytics. His research focuses on the use of advanced statistical modeling and AI to improve clinical outcomes, data integrity, and operational efficiency in areas including mental health, dementia, and chronic disease. Dr. El Asmar has extensive experience leading international research collaborations, has served as chief statistician for major clinical trials, and has published widely on AI, data management, and digital transformation in health. He is a frequent advisor to organizations including WHO and ESCWA and brings a hands-on, practical approach to capacity building for digital transformation in the pharmaceutical sector.
